A London man is now the second person in his family to receive $1,000 a week for life.
London’s Jason McMahon won weekly prizes with Instant Cash for Life scratch-off tickets.
“I bought the ticket with some smaller prize money. The clerk at the store helped me choose the ticket,” McMahon said as he picked up the prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “This win should never have happened. We should have stopped at another store.”
The 35-year-old has been playing Cash for Life regularly for the past six months and has found his big wins at home.
“I couldn’t help laughing. When I told my girlfriend, she couldn’t believe it,” McMahon said. “Then I called my mom and grandmother. My grandmother won Cash for Life seven years ago, so she’s excited that the rest of the family can share the experience with her.”
McMahon said he plans to save and travel. He was obsessed with buying a camper van so he could see Canada from coast to coast.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Valley Farm Variety in Huron Street, London.
