As Twitter now eases its crackdown on controversial content on the platform under Musk, about 40 activist groups have written to 20 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies vowing to stop advertising on Twitter.

Advertisers have now severed ties with Twitter, and General Motors, General Mills and the Volkswagen Group (owner of the Volkswagen, Seat, Cupra, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Ducati and Porsche brands) have suspended advertising on the platform .
