Zamfara bandits kidnap district head, six others –

On Monday, suspected bandits gunmen kidnapped Muhammad Galadima, the head of the village of Kwangami in the Zurmi local government area in Zamfara state, along with six of his subjects, in a raid on the community.

The district chief and others who were kidnapped from their homes were taken to the kidnappers’ camp, although they have not yet contacted their families to make a ransom demand, he said.

Efforts to get confirmation of the incident from state police spokesman SP Mohammed Shehu failed as calls and messages sent to his cell phone went unanswered.
