This Saturday, those who need a winter coat but can’t afford it can pick up what they need at the UHC Hub of Opportunities warehouse.
The agency has been collecting used coats and will open its doors to those in need between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Families can shop for themselves, allowing them to remain independent and pick out their favorite outerwear and accessories,” said a press release issued by the UHC Hub of Opportunities.
The warehouse is located in the center of the Roundhouse on Howard Avenue across from the Devonshire Mall.
In addition to coats, families can find winter hats, gloves, mittens, leggings, and all things warm.
“With temperatures starting to drop, no child should be protected from the cold without proper clothing,” the release continued. “Winter clothes, hats and gloves are basic human necessities.”
Since 2002, the UHC Hub of Opportunities has collected approximately 6,000 coats annually.
