Lambton Public Health A surge in COVID-19 deaths was reported last week.
There have now been 162 deaths linked to the virus in Sarnia-Lambton, up from 155 a week ago, the health department said in an update on Wednesday. Two of them are linked to a long-term care home and five are in hospital, Lambton Public Health said.
Four of them were in their 80s, and the other three ranged in age from 60 to 79.
Since the last update, the health department has reported 142 new laboratory-confirmed cases, an average of 19 per day over the past seven days.
There are seven active outbreaks. The latest news was announced Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospice.
