The West Shore RCMP is investigating two stopped vehicles that were struck by bicycle chains, causing more than $5,000 in damage.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, a delivery driver near the 2300 block of Francis Drive in View Royal reported that the hood of their vehicle was hit by a suspect brandishing a large bicycle seat.
According to police, the suspect continued walking, struck another vehicle parked at the intersection of Watkiss Way and Burnside Road, and fled west along the Galoping Goose Trail.
The West Coast RCMP said no one was injured in the incident, but they are being investigated on mischief charges of more than $5,000, and police are asking the public for any information that might help identify the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, about 5-foot-9, with a slim build and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a baggy brown hoodie, baggy jeans and black running shoes.
“We don’t know what the suspect’s motive was or why he did it. If you know who this suspect is, please contact the West Coast RCMP at 250-474-2264,” Nancy Sagar said in the release.
