Willow Creek Bridge repairs complete

Bruce County has announced that repairs have been completed on the Willow Creek Bridge on the Bruce County Railroad near Paisley.

The bridge was closed in spring 2021 after being severely damaged by a fire, which meant the rail trail between Victoria Street and Bruce-Greenock North Road in Paisley was closed.

Bridges and trails are now accessible to non-motorized users, while reopening to motorized users is expected in spring 2023.

Repairs to the bridge include the construction of new beams, railings and decks.

“The Bruce County Rail Trail is an important part of our active transportation system and a valuable recreational opportunity for county residents,” added Amanda Froese, Director of Transportation and Environmental Services. “The rebuilding of the Willow Creek Bridge is an important priority this summer, and we thank the public for their patience and understanding as this work progresses.”
