Police seek information after woman is caught by a man in Victoria Park
Woman manages to get rid of man and seek safety
A woman says police are looking for information after she was caught by an unknown man in Victoria Park last week.
The woman was in Pioneer Square when the man approached her at about 6 p.m. on November 3. She told the police, who then asked her if she wanted to have something to eat with him.
When the woman refused and started walking away, the man grabbed her and told her to go with him, but she was able to pull away from the man and seek safety, VicPD said. Police said the woman was not physically injured in the incident.
The man is described as 5ft 10in Caucasian, between the ages of 50 and 60, with a grey beard and grey hair. He was wearing a blue raincoat at the time.
As police investigate the reported assault, they are asking anyone near Quadra Street Park on Nov. 3 from 6-6:15 p.m. to call 250-995-7654, ext. 1, or report anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers Greater Victoria at 1-800-222-8477.
