Bright Lights Windsor preparation hits phase two

The City of Windsor continues to prepare another Bright Lights Windsor for Jackson Park.

In preparations for the second phase, the city has closed the parking lot along Tecumseh Road so city workers can bring the tree into the park.

Parking is available on the south side of Jackson Park and is close to the Lawn Bowling and Tennis Club.

Fencing is being constructed around the event area, so access to Jackson Park from the gates on Ouellette Avenue and Tecumseh Road will be closed.

The city began preparations in October to fence off the northern end and close service roads north of Sunken Gardens.

Eventually, exhibits will be spread throughout the park, and city staff will hang thousands of Christmas lights.

Last year’s event attracted more than 100,000 people.

This year’s festival runs from December 2, 2022 to January 8, 2023.
