Letter: Opening doors to nursing homes
I would like to thank you for posting the letter from Rod Hughes of the South Vancouver Island Housing Society on October 27th.
The sad news is that his organization has made several unsuccessful attempts to build another facility for the elderly. Mr Hughes exposes the barriers holding back his society. Politics and bureaucracy stand in the way of creating much-needed things for people like me and our veterans. Nonprofit senior housing should be a priority.
High-rise luxury condos in Esquimalt are under construction, meanwhile, seniors advocates are returning to the drawing board time and time again. crazy.
I want people to stop by Memorial Day to thank our veterans and welcome them as new neighbours in and around Greater Victoria.
