No parent wants their child to stay in the hospital, let alone for more than two months, but it’s a memory the Chatham family will never forget.
For the third time, the Cunningham family is giving back to the organization that supported them through the premature birth of their daughter.
Tiffany and her husband Wes will host their third cocktail and candy event on Saturday 17th December in support of Ronald McDonald House London (RMHL).
RMHL supported them during these difficult times and they have been committed to giving back ever since.
“Both of our daughters were born prematurely at 29 weeks,” Cunningham said. “aria [was born] In Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Ella, London. After Ella was born, we had the privilege of calling RMHL our home during the 71 days we spent in the NICU. We were very grateful for our stay as it brought us closer to Ayla as she fought. “
With experience in the catering and entertainment industries, hosting an event is the most meaningful way for the Cunningham family to give back to the organization.
Over the past two years, the family has been able to donate $24,000 to the RMHL. This year, the family’s goal is to raise $15,000.
“RMH has made one of the most difficult situations in our lives easier,” Cunningham said. “I will never forget the support Wes and I felt during that time. It takes a village to raise children, and ours came into being,”
This year’s Cocktails and Candy Canes event will be held at the Everest Convention Center (formerly the Lentina Club) and includes appetizers and cocktails, a four-course dinner, DJ, dancing, a photo booth and a happy hour with Santa.
According to Cunningham, 200 tickets have been sold, a limited number available to anyone who wants to attend the event.
“People can get involved in two ways,” Cunningham said. “We still have tickets for the event and some of the ticket sales will go directly to Ronald McDonald House. We are also looking for items for our silent and live auctions as this is where we can make the biggest impact and 100% of the proceeds are donated gone.”
