The Osun State Branch of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee called the alleged act of burning the INC office of the Ednan local government in Osun State by the alleged hooligans as barbaric.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday when unidentified individuals attacked the building and set a portion of it on fire.
In Osogbo, the capital of Osun state, on Thursday, Mr. Valle Adebayo, the chairman of the council, personally signed a message urging security agencies to bring the perpetrators of the despicable act to justice.
“It is appalling, uncivilized and barbaric to burn down such an institution close to an election,” Adebayo said.
He added that with 106 days to go before the election, it was raw and worrying that such an unpleasant event was rearing its head.
The chairman asked the police and other law enforcement agencies to work to identify those behind it, just as he warned political parties to play by the rules of the game.
