Gunmen attack army checkpoint in Soludo’s hometown, kill 2 soldiers –

In the early hours of Saturday, gunmen attacked an army checkpoint in the Isuofia commune in the Aguata local government area of ​​Anambra state and killed two soldiers.

State Police Command spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident in a statement, saying the four attackers were killed in a shootout with community soldiers.

He said police were deployed to the scene to restore order.

The statement read: “A group of gunmen attacked nigerian army At the Afor-Uzo junction checkpoint in Isuofia this morning. Unfortunately for the rogues, they met Waterloo.

“They were pursued furiously by our heroic and vigilant security personnel who immediately returned fire and eliminated four gang members in an intense firefight. The Toyota Avenza in which they initiated the deadly operation was recovered.

“The Anambra State Government wants to keep the people safe, especially this Christmas season. If you see anything; please say something to help our vigilant security officers better protect you.”
