Knights of Columbus Sidney donate coats to children
Some Ukrainian refugees pick up coats at Parkland Middle School
This week, the Knights of Columbus Sidney gave out 60 new coats to kids who might not be able to afford it.
“This is important to us,” said trustee Joe Bourdeau. “We believe every child should have a coat. That’s our main mantra. We can do it. We have resources, we have donations. We believe in charity in every way.”
Some of these coats were donated to Ukrainian refugees at North Saanich Parkland Secondary School.
“It was well worth it,” Bourdeau said. “That was brilliant. They had nothing.”
Bourdeau believes that since 2011, the Knights of Columbus have donated approximately 950,000 coats in Canada and the United States.
