Snowsquall watch issued for Eastern Middlesex and Oxford Counties

Residents of the London area will get their first real taste of winter on Saturday night.

Environment Canada has issued a snowstorm warning for London, Park Hill, East Middlesex, Woodstock, Tilsonburg and Oxfordshire.

Heavy snow showers and blizzards will start on Saturday night and continue into Monday morning, with up to 4cm of snow falling every hour.

Residents could have 8cm to 12cm of fresh snow on the ground by early Monday.

Motorists may experience reduced visibility and roads may be snow-covered and slippery. Environment Canada recommends postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Environment Canada issues a blizzard warning when conditions are favorable for the formation of a snow belt that could produce heavy snowfall or near-zero visibility.
