Vehicle stolen from Wallaceburg home

Chatham-Kent police are seeking information from the public after a blue 2022 Hyundai Accent was stolen from a home on Albert Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said the incident occurred early Saturday morning. The vehicle’s Ontario license plate reads CJYJ746

Single-vehicle collision damages Chatham man’s driving bill

A 47-year-old Chatham is facing impaired driving charges after allegedly overturning his car in a field on the Queens Line.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the one-vehicle crash just after 4.30am on Sunday morning.

The driver was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

During conversations with the driver, officers believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol, police said.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further testing, which determined his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.

He was charged and released with a future court date set for November 8, 2022.

19-year-old charged after crash on MacEwen Street

A 19-year-old man is facing charges after he crashed into a utility pole on MacEwen Street in Bothwell.

Police said they received a call from the scene of the crash just after 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The driver was not injured, but he has been charged with multiple highway traffic offences.
