Children’s Aid Society looking for donations this Christmas

Windsor Essex Children’s Aid will launch a holiday campaign this December to support 700 local families.

Each year, the association collects toys, personal hygiene items, gift cards and donations to give to local families and youth living independently in the community.

Public relations manager Mike Clark said the community could get involved in the campaign in a number of different ways.

“Sponsoring a family is one way, and the other way is that you can donate. We now estimate that the average family of four will support about $400 over the holidays,” Clark said.

Those interested in sponsoring a family should contact Children’s Aid by November 26. Once you sign up, you will be assigned a family and given a wish list. You shop and take your donation to Children’s Aid for distribution.

Donations will be collected until Christmas. Children’s Aid Society will use the funds to purchase items on families’ wish lists.
