Russia bans entry of 100 Canadians, including Atwood, Jim Carrey
Ban in response to Canada’s sanctions on Russia
Russia’s foreign ministry announced Monday that 100 Canadians were added to a ban-entry list in response to Canada’s sanctions against Russia.
Author Margaret Atwood, actor Jim Carrey and noted KGB historian Amy Knight were all on the banned list, a department statement said.
They and 97 others, many with ties to Ukrainian national groups, were banned for participating in “the formation of an active (in Canada) anti-Russian line,” the ministry said.
