Dense fog over southern and eastern Vancouver Island causes poor visibility
Conditions are expected to ease later in the morning
Islanders awoke to fog on Tuesday morning.
Environment Canada issued an alert at 4 a.m. on November 15 as dense fog brought near-zero visibility to parts of Greater Victoria, East Vancouver Island and the Central Coast.
Dense fog is expected to ease conditions that improved later in the morning.
The government weather agency is reminding drivers to turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance if driving with reduced visibility.
The rest of the week will see sunny days and clear cold nights heading into the weekend with rain expected again on Saturday night.
