Nanaimo police are looking for two suspects and a damaged Ford pickup truck that was involved in a looting over the weekend.
The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, when a Ford pickup drove through the front window of the Liquor Plus Beer and Wine store at 8th Street and Bruce Avenue and two men took over the store’s ATM .
Reservation constants Nanaimo RCMP spokesman Gary O’Brien said the store’s security video showed a mid-2000s burgundy-colored Ford F-350 driving through the store’s front window.
“The right rear quarter panel of the truck was badly damaged and the right tail light was broken,” O’Brien said, adding that the truck was last seen being driven to Howard Avenue.
O’Brien said there was an undisclosed amount of money when the ATM was taken, which has since been recovered by police. Police did not disclose where the device was found.
Security video shows one of the suspects wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans. The second suspect was wearing a blue hoodie and black sweatpants with white stripes.
