West Coast RCMP are investigating an attempted kidnapping of a 17-year-old girl in Langford.
The teenager parked his car at Westshore Town Center near Shoppers Drug Mart between 5pm and 5.30pm on Monday (November 14). She was leaning against the back seat of the car when a man approached her from behind and pushed her fully inside and closed the door, police said.
A second man then approached the vehicle and tried to get into the driver’s seat, but the girl reacted quickly and locked the car, preventing any man from getting in with her.
A bystander witnessed the developments and yelled at the two suspects, who fled the area on foot to Kelly Road.
The first suspect is described as a dark-skinned man in his 20s or 30s, approximately 6’2″, wearing a dark hoodie and pants at the time of the incident. The man has a beard and may have a swirl tattoo on one hand or wrist.
