Former West Coast resident Gregory Brotherston gets Canada-wide arrest warrant
Gregory Brotherston wanted for parole violation
On November 15, Crime Stoppers looked for a familiar face in Greater Victoria on Facebook.
Gregory Brotherston is wanted across Canada for violating federal parole.
Brotherston, the son of a former Highland MP, was last arrested in April on a Canada Wanted warrant. At the time, Brotherston was wanted because his statutory release was suspended while he was serving a three-year federal sentence for assault causing bodily harm and breaking and entering. This sentence originated from Su Ke’s burglary.
Brotherston pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2012 and was jailed for three years for his role in the death of Colwood resident Richard Green. Green died days after he was shot by Broxon outside a pub in Colwood as he was trying to intervene in a domestic dispute between Broxton and a woman.
The judge at the time cited Brotherston’s “record of violence”, which included breaking and entering and assault causing bodily harm.
