The Greater Essex County School District Board of Trustees has elected a chair and vice chair for the coming year.
Trustee Gail Simko-Hatfield, who served nine terms, was named Chair, while Trustee Cathy Cooke served as Vice-Chair for the third consecutive year.
“It is comforting to know that my experience and dedication are valued and I pledge to carry out my duties as Chairman to the best of my ability,” said Simko-Hatfield.
Connie Buckler, a trustee representing Tecumseh and Lakeshore, was named chair of the Board’s education committee, and Ron LeClair, a trustee representing LaSalle and Tecumseh, chaired the operations and finance committees.
The Board held its first full public meeting on Tuesday, December 6.
The Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board will meet next Tuesday to elect its board chair and vice chair, with its first public meeting on November 29.
