Upper Grand trustees ready to tackle major tasks during new term

The Upper Grand District School Board has some big tasks ahead of it next term.

That’s according to Guelph trustee Ralf Mesenbrink, who was elected chairman of the board at Tuesday’s inaugural meeting.

He said the board needed to embark on a governance review of the board and develop a multi-year plan for the board. The board will hire a human rights adviser to support the equity pillar of the multi-year plan.

Other areas of focus include addressing learning gaps for students, supporting staff and listening to families and communities, he added.

“Congratulations to Trustee Mesenbrink on his election as Board Chair and welcome to the 2022-26 Board,” said Education Director Peter Sovran. “I look forward to working together to achieve our ‘Vision 2026’ outlined in our new multi-year plan, and our continued commitment to all UGDSB students, staff, families and communities.”
