Former Bluewater Mayor Bill Dowson has passed away.
Dawson died last week at the age of 85.
In 2001, he became the first mayor of the merged City of Bluewater. He has served the Bluewater and Stanley Township communities for over 30 years.
“He was truly a man who lived and breathed in Stanley, Hay, Bayfield, Varner, Huron counties. He always did his best for our community and we will miss him,” said current Bluewater Mayor Paul Klopp said.
Dawson’s funeral took place on Tuesday at the Stanley Town Complex in Varna.
