Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth Humane Society has launched the Holidays of Hope campaign.
Director of Development Nick Burke encourages people to “adopt, expand, give or gift”.
He noted that this support will help the animals at the center, as well as the many people and pets who will receive services by the end of the year, including pet pantries that began during the pandemic.
“We haven’t really seen that demand decrease, in fact it’s increased since inflation started to rise, what not. So there’s more and more demand for it in our community and we want to expand that particular program as well Many other services that support the community in different ways,” he explained. “Consider adopting an animal if it fits their family and lifestyle. We ask people to give gifts, give items that are on their wish list.”
Burke added that they’re always looking for volunteers to help at their center, whether it’s through foster care or the day-to-day work they do.
The campaign will run through December 31 to help raise vital funds for the people and pets most in need this holiday season.
“The Humane Society is not funded by any level of government, and we rely on the generosity of our donors and our fundraising efforts to continue providing critical services to people and pets in our community,” said HSKWSP CEO Kathrin Delutis. “Some of these important services include Our emergency boarding program, our pet pantry program and our community veterinary outreach program.”
