Over the next month, you may notice red jugs popping up all over Sarnia-Lambton.
The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle event kicks off on November 17 and runs until Christmas Eve.
Lieutenant Brad Webster said last year’s initiative was a success, generating more than $170,000 in revenue.
They hope to make at least $160,000 this time.
He said all the money stayed in the community.
“I just want to say ‘thank you’ to our community,” Webster said. “We’ve had a lot of support throughout the year. I know customers who have come to share their stories with us and thank them for their support. We ask, if you can, to throw anything when you see a jug Get in. That goes a long way in support.”
They also need volunteers to stand by the jugs, Webster said.
In Sarnia, they will be in Superstore, Walmart, Metro, Lambton Mall and Canadian Tire.
