Roar! Roar! Hometown Christmas returns to downtown Kincardine on Friday night. The event runs along Queen Street from Victoria Park to Queen Square from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
BIA downtown development manager Jana-Leigh Ibbitson said shops would be open late and there were many family events planned. She told CKNX News what she is most looking forward to.
“I’m really excited this year because we’re bringing some interactive hockey games to town. There’s ski hockey, there’s a mini hockey rink, there’s an electric grid for people to come and play,” she said.
Ibbitson encouraged residents to gather at Victoria Park at 6:00 pm for the park lighting ceremony.
“The municipality actually purchased 350 glowing lights to distribute to community members to really get involved in lighting the park. These will be distributed at Victoria Park in the municipal tent starting at 5pm,” added Ibbitson.
She added that children won’t want to miss out on meeting Santa.
“[Santa] Mix that up with roaming the streets and actually sitting down for family photos. Santa will be sitting at NPX next to Bruce Telecom. It’s completely free, and you can donate to the food bank if you want,” Ibbitson said.
