A driver in LaSalle is facing a $2,000 fine for allegedly speeding twice the speed on Front Road Wednesday afternoon.
If he is convicted, he must pay the cost of reinstating his license and any increased insurance costs.
That afternoon, a La Salle officer was conducting radar traffic enforcement when he spotted a black Volkswagen Jetta traveling at 101 km/h. That section of Front Road has a speed limit of just 50km/h.
The officer suspended his license for 30 days, after which he had to pay $281 with Service Ontario to drive legally again.
If convicted, drivers could face another, longer license suspension in addition to higher fines.
