The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the Governor and State Assembly elections at 10 polling stations in the Victoria Garden City (VGC) area of Lagos State.
Resident Election Commissioner Segun Agbaje revealed this to reporters during a media briefing on Saturday.
Agabje said the developments stemmed from fears that members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the area as temporary staff could carry out an attack.
Violence was also reported in some local government areas in the state.

Commenting on the developments, Agbaje said the chairman of the VGC Security Committee had assured the committee of the safety of the Corps members, INEC staff and voters.
He said: “We have eight polling stations here with a total of 6,024 registered voters, 5,624 of whom have PVC. Eight are in the estate and two are outside.
“Following due consultation and further instructions from the National Headquarters, we have been asked to re-mobilize here for elections by 08:30 tomorrow (Sunday) morning.”
