The Speaker of the Yobe State Assembly, His Excellency Ahmad Mirwa Rawan, was dismissed by Rawan Musa, 35, a candidate for the Nguru II constituency of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The election was closely contested, with Musa winning by a total of 6,648 votes and Rawang’s 6,466.

The Director of Elections, Dr Habib Mohammad, announced the results and revealed that ADC, NNPP and other candidates from the APM party received 3,023 and 14 votes respectively.

Notably, MP Ahmed Milwa Rawan has been a member of the House of Representatives since his election in 2003 under the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP).
