Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Lagos state Labor Party gubernatorial candidate, has declared that the results released by INEC in the just-concluded gubernatorial election on Saturday did not represent the wishes of the majority of Lagosians.
He made this known in a tweet on his Twitter page on Sunday.
He said: “First of all, I would like to thank all Lagosians, especially our supporters, who came out and voted for us yesterday. I believe that with you on our side, a new Nigeria is coming.
“However, I am saddened by reports of confirmation of violence and severe disenfranchisement of voters who simply want to fulfill their civic duties.
“Attacks on polling stations, voters and our party’s proxies are completely at odds with what we stand for and what Lagos really stands for.
“The collusion of the ruling party and election officials to get the APC candidate elected is a slap in the face to democracy and everyone who came out and voted for us on Saturday.
“Given this, I firmly believe that the results released by INEC do not represent the wishes of the majority of peaceful Lagosians.
“More importantly, our field agents and situation room results show we won this election. I’m an advocate for the people. We’re far from done. Don’t lose hope, don’t be shaken.
“It’s not over, we’re not at the point where we accept outright lies, crimes and lies. The fight for freedom is never going to be easy.”
“Every vote cast for me has been done with intimidation and risk of physical harm. Every such vote must be counted. It is a sacred duty to defend each of these votes. I will defend Your vote — that’s my oath to every LP voter.”
First of all I would like to thank all Lagosians especially our supporters who came out and voted for us yesterday. I believe that with you on our side, a new Nigeria is coming.
