Off-road tour hopes to inspire more young women into the industry

To inspire more young women to join the aviation industry, a cross-country trip is taking place in 30 different communities.

This included a stop on the Saanich Peninsula at the Victoria Flying Club on Monday (March 20).

Attendees will hear from women working in all areas of the industry in the morning, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of local facilities after lunch, including a jet hangar, helicopter maintenance depot and air traffic control tower.

The free event is hosted by the non-profit organization Elevate Aviation. Students aged 12 to 18 are welcome to attend. For more information and to register, visit elevateaviation.ca/programs/tours.
