Family dog rescued from Glen Cairn house fire



The London Fire Service responded to a blaze in the city’s south-east end on Wednesday, rescuing a pet they said was now “in good condition”.

Crews were called to the scene near Burlington Street and Cleveland Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. It was confirmed via Twitter that the fire started in the home’s kitchen and had “self-extinguished”.

During an initial search of the home, firefighters located and rescued the family’s dog.

“We are pleased to say the dog is doing well,” a fire department spokesman said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Losses are estimated to exceed $100,000.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The scene is now in the charge and control of London Fire Brigade investigators who will work to ascertain the origin, cause and circumstances of the fire.
