Three people from Walpole Island were arrested and multiple firearms were seized last Friday (March 31) when First Nations search warrants were executed.
In a news release issued Wednesday, April 5, Lambton OPP said members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) joined members from other OPP CSCU teams, Lambton County OPP Crime Unit, and the Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU) Join, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Dog Unit execute search warrants on Austin Road.
The firearms were located inside the residence.
Windy Riley, 41, was charged with five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm, two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance, possession of property by way of criminal The amount obtained was less than $5,000 and the promise was not kept.
Jenelle Kiyoshk, 34, was charged with careless storage of ammunition and five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.
Sophia Shipman, 25, was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Riley and Shipman were detained after a bail hearing on March 31.
Kiyoshk has been released and is scheduled to appear in Ontario court at a later date.
