There’s still time to buy a bouquet of roses for that special someone, courtesy of the Chatham Rotary Sunrise Club.
Roses are available at the Portuguese Club on Grand Ave. E in Chatham until 5 p.m. Wednesday
The 22nd annual Rotary Rose event sold more than 800 dozen roses and raised $10,000 in three weeks, according to President-elect Glenn Smith.
“This is our largest fundraiser,” Smith said. “today [Wednesday] We’ll ship them free throughout Chatham-Kent. Residents can also come and collect. “
All proceeds go directly back to the community.
Glenn said the group makes a monthly donation to a community organization. Last month, the group donated $18,000 to Outreach for Hunger in Chatham.
In 2022, 750 dozen roses were sold through the Roses for Rotary fundraiser.
For $25, you can buy a dozen roses, which come in a mix of red, orange, and yellow.
