Anniversary of Oneida man’s murder marked with renewed call for tips

Provincial Police are again appealing to the public for information regarding the murder of Oneida Nation of the Thames business owner Bradley Shane Chrisjohn.

Two years ago this week, April 4, 2021, the 45-year-old was found dead at a home on the Duff Line in Dutton-Dunwich. The body of Chris John was discovered by officers who received reports of the sudden death around 4 a.m. and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An unidentified second person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A year after Chrisjohn’s death was ruled a homicide a day after the horrific discovery, police launched a dedicated tips line with information on unsolved cases.

Chrisjohn, a husband and father of eight, is well known in the community for running Ambrose Gas Bar and Little Arrows Gas Bar in Oneida Native.

Investigators probing his death renewed their appeal for leads from the public on Thursday.

“The Elgin County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), continues to investigate this death with the Office of the Ontario Chief Coroner,” police said in a statement.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
