Easter is here and that means some closures around Chatham-Kent.
Council offices will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Council services will also be affected by the holiday long weekend.
Chatham-Kent garbage collection is only affected by Good Friday. Residents who normally receive curbside collection on Friday, April 7 will receive it on Saturday, April 8. There are no changes to the collection for the week of April 10. All transfer stations and foliage and yard warehouses will be closed on Friday.
In the meantime, with CK Transit not operating on Friday, residents will want to make sure they have a way to get around.
Blenheim Arena and Chatham Thames Campus Arena will be open for booked hire on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, but all other arenas will be closed. Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be closed on Friday, Sunday and Monday, but will be open on Saturday.Play Rangers Saturday at Gable Rees Rotary Pool from 1-3pm
Meanwhile, all branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed on Friday and Monday. Branches that normally open on Saturdays will remain open. All municipal arts and cultural venues will also be closed on Friday and Monday.
Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed on Friday and Monday. The emergency number is 519-352-6300.
At Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, some health care services will change on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Outpatient Nursing Services, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Preoperative Screening Services, Diabetes Education Centre, TIA and CAD Clinic, Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Outpatient Laboratory Services, Health Records and Patient Appointment Office will be closed on Fridays and Mondays and Chatham Station in Elston Point’s pharmacy as well as commercial and cashier’s offices.
However, some outpatient diagnostic tests will be performed during statutory holidays. Patients who have scheduled diagnostic testing are advised to attend their appointments. These departments will also be staffed to meet inpatient and emergency needs.
The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addiction Program Clinic will be closed for both days along with The Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic. Any urgent crisis can be handled by calling the Crisis Line at 1-866-299-7447 or by going to the nearest emergency room.

Public Health King Street in Chatham will be closed on Friday and Monday. Call 1-866-446-8207 for basic after-hours public health services.
As is customary, emergency services and emergency rooms at area hospitals will remain open 24 hours a day.
