Windsor truck driver collects $1M on scratch-off ticket

The decision to check out a scratch ticket in a store after using it gave new meaning to the term “instant winner”.

Robert Dikan, a truck driver from Windsor, said he had been playing the lottery regularly for three months. One day, he bought a $10 Instant Jackpot Multiplier scratch-off game.

“I drew my ticket at the store and checked it out using the OLG app,” Dikan said while claiming his prize at the OLG Prize Center in Toronto recently. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw $1 million on my screen.”

$1 million is the game’s top prize. Dikan immediately contacted his live-in partner and said she was “overwhelmed” by the windfall.

He plans to use the money to pay off some bills, buy a new truck and travel.

Dikan bought his winning ticket at the Busy Bee convenience store on Tecumseh Road, Windsor.
