Mount Forest woman charged in weekend stabbing



A Mount Forest woman is facing multiple charges after she was stabbed at a house in the town over the weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a threatening call from a home on Egremont Street around 11 p.m. last Thursday. Officers were told that someone had been threatened with a knife-bladed weapon and the accused left.

Shortly after midnight on Good Friday, police were called to reports of injuries to a home on Albert Street. The victim was stabbed and suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

OPP officials have since arrested a 31-year-old Mount Forest woman who was charged with injuring the victim. She was charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, assault with a weapon, making threats to cause death or bodily harm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a release order.

The woman was detained by police during a bail hearing.
