Sting lead OHL with nine players on Coaches Poll



Sarnia Sting has the Ontario Hockey League’s top nine players appearing in the Coaches of the Year voting.

The results were released Monday, with the Eastern Conference and Western Conference voting evenly split.

Ty Voit, who led the league in assists with 81, was named the best playmaker and best ball handler in the Western Conference.

Chicago Blackhawks rookie Ethan Del Mastro was named Defensive Player of the Year and Penalty Taker of the Year.

Dallas Stars rookie Christian Carew was named the best offensive and defensive player. Captain Nolan Dillingham is the top medical inspector.

Marcus Limpar-Lantz was rated as the third most underrated player, and Sasha Pastujov was tied for third most intelligent.

Nolan Burke is the third-best threat in the goal zone and tied for the third-best defensive lineman.

Luca Del Bel Belluz is third on the list of most dangerous shooters in shootouts.

Ben Gaudreau was voted the third best goalie in possession and the third best goalie with a shot.
