Four Midwestern Ontarians will represent Team Canada when the 2023 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup kicks off in Argentina this weekend.
Mason and Mitch McKay of Tavistock, Owen Tory of Williamsford and Reese Yants of Shakespeare are part of a team of 16 who will be in Argentina from April 15-23 Paraná hosts the best competitions in the world.
Canada just completed a four-game series against the U.S. national team in Vero Beach, Florida. Both teams played two games. After arriving in South America against Israel, Australia and Argentina, they will also play several warm-up games.
Canada will play Venezuela on Saturday, April 15 at 3:30pm.
Canada was awarded a wild card to participate in the competition in December and will join the 11 other qualifying countries through continental qualifiers in 2022.
