Good Samaritan threatened, stoned
A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing charges after he allegedly threw rocks at a driver who stopped to help him.
Chatham-Kent police said the man was allegedly standing in the middle of the road on St. Clair Street in Chatham and blocking traffic just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when someone stopped to check on him.
The man then allegedly threatened the driver and threw objects, including a rock, at the victim’s vehicle. Police said this caused some damage to the vehicle.
The Chatham-Kent man who stood on the road was later arrested and charged with mischief and making threats.
He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Argument over debt leads to violence
A 36-year-old Chatham man is facing assault charges for allegedly hitting another man while they argued over a debt.
Police said they got involved after officers were called to Pine Street at 8.30pm on Tuesday to investigate the attack.
CK Police said they understand the altercation between the pair had escalated to the point where one of the men beat the other several times.
A man accused of assaulting another man was arrested and charged with assault.
He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham-Kent woman booked for breaching release order
A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is in further trouble with the law after she allegedly failed to register with police last week.
CK Police said the woman was arrested shortly after she appeared at the front desk of CK Police Headquarters at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said she was on release conditions requiring her to check in with the officer in charge weekly, but she allegedly skipped the appointment the week before.
She was charged with breaching a release order and was later released with a future court date.
