Canadian singer Celine Dion announces new music release Thursday
The social media note did provide details that the singer’s last studio album was 2019’s “Courage”
Canadian pop star Céline Dion promised her fans new music this week after a rare neurological condition forced her to cancel or postpone concerts to focus on her health.
The Quebec-born singer announced on social media that the new music will be released Thursday morning.
Dion announced in December that she had “stiff person syndrome,” a disorder characterized by sudden, severe muscle spasms.
She said last year that the spasms were affecting her daily life, making it difficult for her to walk and preventing her from singing with her vocal cords like she used to.
The diagnosis forced her to postpone some European concert dates scheduled for earlier this year and cancel a series of performances from May to July.
Dion’s terse social media message didn’t provide any details on the music she’ll be releasing, nor an update on her tour plans. Her most recent studio album is 2019’s Courage.
