As the weather warms up, farmers markets in greater Victoria are back with a comeback, offering local produce, art and more. With a variety of markets to choose from, locals and tourists can finally get back outside and buy their weekly groceries.
Farmers markets from Sydney to Sooke will be open to visitors, rain or shine, from now until autumn. Below is a list of several popular markets that you can explore during the week.
Esquimalt Farmers Market
The Esquimalt Farmers Market opens on April 6th at Esquimalt’s Memorial Park. Every Thursday through September 14, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, visitors can grab their weekly catch while browsing local art and listening to live music.
This farmers market will also be held outside Esquimalt Canyon Park every Monday from June 19th to September 4th.
Pets are not allowed at this market, so please leave your furry friends at home.
Moss Street Market
Moss Street Market moves back outside on April 1st and is open every Saturday from 10am to 1pm
While the farmers market is a great opportunity to get out and about, many of the items at this market can be ordered online and picked up at the Online Order Pickup Tent. Visit mossstreetmarket.com for more information. You’ll find Moss Street Market on the grounds of the Sir James Douglas School. This market is pet-friendly, so dogs on a leash are welcome.
Sooke Country Market
Sooke Country Market is located outside the District Office and Fire Hall on Otter Point Road in Sooke and will be open on Saturday, April 21st from 10am to 2pm
This market offers local produce, soaps, baked goods and more until October 7, 2023.
james bay market
The James Bay Market will be open next month on May 6th and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm until October 7th.
With three performances a week, shopping at this market is a music-filled way to support local arts and food vendors. You’ll find James Bay Market on the corner of Menzies Street and Superior Street.

Gold Creek Farmers Market
The Goldstream Farmers’ Market, also open May 6, will run until October 7, Saturday, 10am-2pm.
Find this market at Veterans Memorial Park.
Metchosin Farmers Market
The Metchosin Farmers Market is located behind the Fire Hall at 4450 Happy Valley Rd. and is open Sundays from 11am to 2pm from Mother’s Day through the last Sunday in October.
North Saanich Farm MarketTon
North Saanich Farm Market The first market of the season will be held on June 3rd at 10990 West Saanich Rd. The market is open every Saturday from 9:30am to 12pm and will be closed on October 7th.
The marketplace is still accepting vendor applications.
Peninsula Country Market
Last but not least, the Peninsula Village Market is also open from June 3rd to October 7th.The market is open every Saturday from 9am to 1pm
This year, the market will also have a children’s section, making it even more family-friendly.
