Lambton Shores is looking for a new fire chief.
Chief Administrative Officer Steve McAuley confirmed to SarniaNewsToday.ca that Lawrence Swift is no longer with the city, but did not give a reason for his departure.
“As with any personal matter, the municipality will not be making any comment on the person or any details,” Macaulay added. “I can also confirm that Deputy Chief Dave McLean has assumed the role of City’s Acting Fire Chief.”
Plans are underway to hire a new full-time fire chief, McAuley said.
“We hope to announce this position soon. As we begin the transition to new leadership for the Fire Department, I want to thank the men and women who make up our volunteer fire service for their professionalism along the way and their continued commitment to the community Operations are unaffected and our firefighters continue to invest time in ongoing training and emergency preparedness to ensure residents of the Lambton Coast get help when they need it most,” he said.
