Stolen bike investigation leads to recovery of stolen IDs



Police investigated a recent bicycle theft in Clinton and recovered numerous stolen IDs.

The Huron County OPP received a call just after 10:00 p.m. on April 2 that a business on Beech Street in Clinton had an unexpected visitor. Officers arrived and identified the subject of the complaint, who allegedly stole an employee’s bicycle at the company. Police found the stolen bike nearby during the search and located the alleged suspect in a nearby building they broke into.

The suspect was arrested and during the search, police found a number of stolen identification documents on the defendant, which had been reported as stolen earlier in the day.

As a result, a 35-year-old man of no fixed address faces multiple charges, including burglary, theft under $5,000 and possession of criminally acquired property.

The accused has been held for a bail hearing and has been remanded in custody.
