Laketown Rock cancelled for 2023

Laketown Rock, an annual rock concert held every July at Laketown Ranch near Lake Cowichan, has been canceled this year.

A post from Laketown Ranch, Canada’s largest permanent outdoor stage, said, “Despite our best efforts for 2023, … we have been unable to find outstanding artists that we feel warrant announcing this year’s event.”

Last year’s Laketown Rock featured John Fogerty, Tom Cochrane, Big Sugar and Wide Mouth Mason.

But Laketown Ranch’s other two most popular events, the Sunfest Country Music Festival and the Laketown Shakedown Music Festival, will continue as scheduled this summer.

So far, Sunfest’s featured artists will be held August 3-6 and include Blake Shelton, High Valley, Lainey Wilson, Jade Eagleson, Lindsay Ell, Billy Currington, Lonestar, Jess Moskaluke and Cory as the festival’s high-line cast Marks.

Performers at the Lakedown Shakedown Festival, scheduled for June 30-July 2, include Portugal’s Third Eye Blind. The Man, Shaggy, Aqua, Reignwolf, Bif Naked, SonReal, Everlast, K’naan, and Rêve.
