Police release results from long weekend traffic initiative



The OPP for Huron and Perth counties released data for the Easter long weekend traffic blitz.

Perth County officials made 102 charges during the three-day initiative. Six drivers were not wearing seat belts. There were 76 speeding charges, one drink driving charge and three stunt driving charges.

In Huron County, police filed 218 charges. Fortunately, there were 3 crashes and no one was hurt. 30 seat belt charges, as well as 105 speeding charges and 3 stunt/racing charges. Two drivers were charged with drink driving and 51 other miscellaneous traffic charges.

Police will continue to monitor local roads and will be on the lookout for all forms of dangerous driving.
