WRH getting more funds for after-hours coverage

Windsor Regional Hospital is getting more funding for on-call services.

The Ontario government will provide $222,588 to support more on-call funding for doctors who work after hours.

“In healthcare, our focus remains on ensuring patients get the care they need, when they need it,” said MPP Andrew Dowie. “The status quo is no longer acceptable and I am proud to be part of a government that is innovating through programs such as the Windsor-Essex Ontario Health Team (OHT) mobile clinic and pharmacists to prescribe medicines for common ailments. “

The funding will provide more after-hours services at both hospitals.

“We would like to thank the Ford Administration for revisiting the HOCC process that has not been updated in years. We look forward to working with the Department of Health to continually update the process moving forward,” said David Musyj, President and CEO of Windsor Regional Hospitals.
